Peter graduated in 1986 with a Master's degree in Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

After completing his military service, he began his career as a legal expert at ABP and subsequently became a personal injury expert.

In 1992, he joined Moree Gelderblom Advocaten in Rotterdam as a lawyer, and on January 1st, 1997, he became a partner of the firm. He then served as managing partner of this office from late 2002 until 2018.

He has also been active in governance, serving as chairman of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, of which he is now an honorary member. He also served as chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Dutch Judo Federation. His connection to the Judo Federation stemmed from his own competitive judo career (he was Dutch champion among students and third in the Netherlands among the military).
